Critics have rated this as the best available among Valpolicella wines: the 2005 vintage was given a score of 95 by The Wine Advocate and the 2002 vintage was given a score of 18/20 by Jancis Robinson.
At various competitions this wine has been awarded a couple of prizes: This wine has won the TWA-BIWA 50 Best Italian Wines award for the 2008 vintage and the 2007 vintage.
