Grenache Blanc – Vermentino are two white grape varieties that are blended together in southern France, where Vermentino is known as Rolle. Both Grenache Blanc and Rolle are important varieties in the region, making up a large proportion of crisp white wines from Languedoc-Roussillon and Provence. A number of regions along the Mediterranean coast make the blend, which tends to be slightly floral, with crisp acidity, although not particularly long-lived. The most famous appellation associated with the Grenache Blanc – Rolle blend is Bellet, where the latter must comprise a minimum 60 percent of the final wine.

Wines made from Grenache Blanc and Rolle tend to have lemon and citrus characteristics with a medium-bodied frame. In some environments the varieties can struggle to achieve good levels of acidity and can take on a soapy feel, but for the most part they produce pleasant, approachable wines.
