Trapiche is one of the largest wine producers in Argentina. It owns 1255 hectares (3100 acres) of vineyards and collaborates with 300 contract growers throughout Mendoza, and has a diverse portfolio of wines. Trapiche makes around 133 million cases a year, and is distributed around the world.

The line-up covers all of the major grape varieties grown in Argentina. Most production is devoted to Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon on the red side, and Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Torrontés on the white. Trapiche has around twenty different ranges of wines, including single-vineyard releases under the Finca Las Palmas, Gran Medalla and Terroir Series labels. The Zaphy range is certified organic.

The company's history began in 1883 in a small vineyard called el Trapiche in Godoy Cruz, Mendoza. Over the years, Trapiche has been a pioneer in the introduction of French vines, the production of varietal wines, the import of French oak barrels and the use of stainless steel tanks. It was also a pioneer on the international market, winning its first award in Paris in 1889. Since 1971, Trapiche has been part of Grupo Peñaflor.
