Marchand-Tawse is a leading Burgundian negociant and domaine based in Beaune, producing a wide range of wines from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. These range from entry-level Bourgogne wines to those at the Grand Cru level.
The company, which was formed in 2010, is a joint venture between Moray Tawse of Tawse Winery in Ontario and Quebec-born winemaker Pascal Marchand, formerly of the top Domaines Comte Armand and la Vougeraie. Depending on the vintage, some wines may be labelled with the winemaker's name rather than "Marchand-Tawse".
After initially focussing entirely on negociant releases from bought-in fruit and wine, the portfolio now also includes around ten wines from estate-owned parcels. In addition, Marchand-Tawse acquired Domaine Maume in 2011, and continues to produce a range of estate-grown wines (including four different Grands Crus) under that name – albeit with a label combining the old design with Marchand-Tawse branding.
