The Prisoner Wine Company is a California producer based in Rutherford, Napa Valley, and is known for its highly acclaimed proprietary blends. The brand was previously made by Orin Swift Cellars, but was sold to Huneeus Vintners in 2010, and became a stand-alone brand. There are two wines in the range: the eponymous 'The Prisoner' red blend born in the 2000 vintage, and the relatively young "Saldo", a Zinfandel-dominant blend that was first made in 2007.

The Prisoner is a blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petite Sirah and Charbono, and carries an etching by artist Francisco Goya on the label. It amassed a following while simultaneously being critically lauded – within a six year period it featured three times on Wine Spectator's Top 100. Between 2000 and 2009, The Prisoner had grown from 385 cases to over 75,000 cases annually. Dave Phinney, the founder of Orin Swift Cellars, stayed on as winemaker for Huneeus until Jen Beloz took over with the 2013 vintage.

The Prisoner Wine Company was established by Huneeus as a vehicle to market and sell The Prisoner, while also introducing a few of its own proprietary blends. As well as Saldo, this includes the Thorn and Cuttings wines, and a white known as Blindfold from an eclectic blend of Chardonnay and white Rhône varieties. The winery sources its fruit from over 200 lots all across California.

In April 2016, the brand was sold to Constellation Brands, one of the world's largest wine groups.
