Rosenblum Cellars is best known for producing over 20 different types of Zinfandel from several appellations in California. Kent Rosenblum, “The King of Zin,” founded the cellars in Alameda, California in 1978 and began producing wine from grapes grown in areas of Northern California that, at the time, lacked recognition and appreciation. Today, Rosenblum works with grape growers throughout California to make up a portfolio of more than 50 wines.

Rosenblum is a founding member of the Zinfandel Advocates and Producers group (ZAP!), a non-profit corporation with a mission to highlight Zinfandel and its unique place in American society and history. Zinfandel makes up a large portion of Rosenblum’s wine portfolio, including old vine, high altitude, and single vineyard examples of the variety, but the winery also produces Rhône-style red and white wines, and dessert wines.

Many of the vineyards Rosenblum purchases fruit from have been family owned for generations and come from California AVAs such as Paso Robles, Contra Costa, Alexander Valley, and Sonoma Valley. When possible, Rosenblum Cellars places vineyard names on bottles to highlight the unique taste profiles of specific wine growing regions in California and to acknowledge each vine grower’s contribution to a wine.
