克罗地亚移民Josip Babich于1916年创立了家族产业百祺酒庄并酿造了第一个年份。酒庄现在由家族第三代经营,在新西兰最优秀的葡萄酒产区拥有葡萄园。

Babich Wines is a historic wine estate based in New Zealand's largest city, Auckland. It was established in 1911 by Josip Babich, who had immigrated to New Zealand from Dalmatia (modern-day Croatia). Today, Babich owns vineyards in many of New Zealand's key wine regions, including Marlborough and Gisborne, and makes a wide range of wines from grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.

After Josip Babich planted his first vines (which were Pinot Meunier), he began to acquire adjoining blocks, expanding the estate considerably. In the 1970s, the company began purchasing grapes from Gisborne and in the 1980s made its first wine from the Gimblett Gravels region in the Hawke's Bay. In 1987 it bought its first property in the region. Since then, Babich has purchased vineyards and built a winery in Marlborough, where most of its operations take place.

There are six key ranges at Babich Wines: Black Label, Family Estates, Winemakers' Reserve, Irongate, the Patriarch and the entry-level, self-titled range. The Patriarch, introduced in 1996, is the flagship wine and is named in honor of Josip Babich. It is made from grapes in the Irongate Vineyard in the Hawke's Bay, and is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, with proportions differing depending on the year. A Chardonnay and another Bordeaux blend are also made from the Irongate Vineyard, and the rest of the ranges are sourced from around New Zealand.
