Château Troplong Mondot is a producer located on the hills of Saint-Émilion, on the right bank of the Gironde in Bordeaux. Typically for the region, Merlot is the dominant grape variety, but Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon are also used in smaller portions. Troplong Mondot is classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé B in the Saint-Émilion classification, which was most recently updated in 2012.

The vineyards cover 33 hectares (82 acres) of well-draining limestone and clay soils, interspersed with chalk and flint. Troplong Mondot has a cooler climate than most of Saint-Émillon and is one of the last to harvest grapes each year. These are hand-harvested and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel, moving to oak barrels for a secondary malolactic fermentation. The grand vin is aged for up to two years in oak, the majority of which is new. Around 10,000 cases of Château Troplong Mondot are made each year, with a further 800 cases of the second wine, Mondot.

Château Troplong Mondot was established in the late 1800s when Raymond-Theodore Troplong bought and expanded the Mondot estate.
