Twomey Cellars produces Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc from top vineyards and coastal growing regions in California and Oregon. After decades producing Cabernet Sauvignon at Silver Oak, the Duncan Family established Twomey in 1999 with the purchase of Soda Canyon Ranch Vineyard in the Napa Valley. The estate now has two wineries: one in Calistoga dedicated to Merlot production and one in the Russian River Valley for the production of Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc.

Twomey's first estate vineyard, Soda Canyon Ranch, is composed of volcanic soils and planted to Merlot. In 2000 the Duncan's purchased an additional vineyard, the four-hectare (9-acre) West Pin Vineyard, located in the Russian River Valley. From this site and three other appellations in California, including Anderson Valley, the Sonoma Coast, and Santa Maria Valley, Twomey produces single-vineyard and region-specific Pinot Noir wines. In 2014, Twomey produced its first vintage of Pinot Noir from two established vineyards in the Willamette Valley. The wines from Oregon represent Twomey's next step for expansion of its Pinot Noir program.

The estate's Sauvignon Blanc is grown at Twomey's Calistoga vineyard – a certified fish friendly farming vineyard along with Soda Canyon Ranch. The Duncan family is committed to sustainable farming practices, using cover crops, practicing water conservation and integrated pest management.

The winery is one of a few in Northern California to practice the labor-intensive winemaking method of soutirage traditionnel whereby wine is racked from one barrel to another by gravity, without the use of a pump. This process is used for Twomey's Merlot to soften tannins and clarify the wine which ages around 18 months in French oak barrels.
