Castelgiocondo is a Tuscan wine estate owned by the Frescobaldi family, known for its Sangiovese wines from the Brunello di Montalcino appellation. The 2010 vintage of the Brunello was selected by James Suckling as his wine of the year for 2015.

The estate buildings, which overlook the village of the same name, were built around AD1100 as a stronghold on the road from the port of Talamane to Siena. It was one of the first estates in the region to produce wine, starting in the early 19th Century. Vineyards are located between 300 and 400 meters altitude (1000-1300 feet) on sunny southwest facing slopes with well-drained soils.

The portfolio also includes the Ripe al Convento single-vineyard riserva Brunello – which, like the normale, spends around two years in oak – a Rosso di Montalcino, and the Lamaione cuvee, a Toscana IGT made from Merlot. Wines are aged in a mix of Slavonian oak casks and French oak barrels.
