Joseph Janoueix

Joseph Janoueix is one of the oldest wine producers and merchants in the Libourne area of France, and has been family-owned since 1898. The Janoueix family owns several châteaux in the Bordeaux region: seven in Saint-Émilion, four in Pomerol, and two in Côtes de Bordeaux Castillon.

Joseph Janoueix's properties produce Right Bank Bordeaux blends. The combined total production is around 450,000 bottles, and 25 percent of this is exported.

Château Haut Sarpe, a Grand Cru Classé from Saint-Émilion's 1955 classification, is the premier estate. It has some of the oldest vines in Saint-Émilion and includes 21 hectares (52 acres) of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The wine from this estate is a blend aged for 18 months in new oak barrels.
