Chateau Rollan de By

Château Rollan de By is a Bordeaux wine producer located in the Haut-Médoc. The estate was purchased in 1989 by Jean Guyon who has since expanded his holdings to include several other châteaux, including Haut Condissas, Tour Seran and La Clare. Four of his estates are classified as Cru Bourgeois, and produce more than a million bottles a year and are distributed to more than 50 countries.

The vineyard originally covered a mere two hectares (5 acres) of vineyard land. The estate's holdings now cover 200ha (494 acres) of Médoc land around the area of By. Wines labeled Château Rollan de By come from the château's 45ha (111 acres) of vineyard land composed of clay and gravel soils. The site is planted to around 70 percent Merlot, with smaller plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, with vines averaging 35 years old.

The estate's wine portfolio includes red Bordeaux blends from the separate châteaux as well as The Collection Or, composed of Cru Bourgeois wines from the best fruit of each vineyard, a Château Rollan de By Rosé, and Kosher wines from each châteaux, produced since 2001.
