DeLille Cellars is situated in Woodinville, Washington, in the Pacific Northwest of the US. The estate's two inaugural wines were both blends of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Both these wines form the key pillars of the DeLille Cellars signature collection. This collection was subsequently accompanied by the Grand Ciel and Doyenne collections.
Since the foundation of the estate in 1992, DeLille Cellars has predominantly focused on Bordeaux varieties grown on nine different vineyards spanning the Yakima Valley and Red Mountain AVAs: Harrison Hill, Grand Ciel, Klipsun, Boushey, Ciel du Cheval, Red Willow, Upchurch and Stillwater Creek.
DeLille Cellars has held the rights to Harrison Hill vineyard since 1994, which is today part of the Snipes Mountain AVA. Snipes Mountain is known for its unique topography, high elevations and soils that differentiate it from the rest of the Yakima Valley AVA. The Harrison Hill vineyard was first planted to Cabernet Sauvignon in 1962 and features the second oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vines in the state of Washington.
DeLille Cellars also produces a white wine – Chaleur Estate Blanc, a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon.
In the year 2000 the estate, in partnership with Jim Holmes of Ciel du Cheval vineyard, planted an 8ha (20-acre) site in the Red Mountain AVA with Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. French clones were densely planted and the results used to create the single-vineyard label Grand Ciel.
