The coat of arms of Arezzo

Valdarno di Sopra, alternatively written as 'Val d'Arno di Sopra', is one of Italy's newer DOC titles. It was introduced in the summer of 2011, and covers a section of the Arno Valley in the Arezzo province of eastern Tuscany. It has two named sub-regions, Pietraviva and Pratomagno.

The title covers red, white and rosé wines, both still and sparkling, and even a sweet white passito variant.

The key red-wine grape varieties used here are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Sangiovese and Syrah. The white-wine varieties number just two: Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. All of these may be used to make varietal wines. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah are used to make the red (rosso) wines, and the whites (bianco) are based on Chardonnay, with the remainder made from the classic central Italian white-wine blend of Malvasia and Trebbiano.

The parishes covered by the Valdarno di Sopra title are Pian di Sco, Castelfranco di Sopra, Terranuova Bracciolini, Loro Ciuffenna, Castiglion Fibocchi and Laterina in the Pratomagno sub-region and Cavriglia, Montevarchi, Bucine, San Giovanni Valdarno, Pergine Valdarno and Civitella in Val di Chiana in the Pietraviva sub-zone.
