La Consulta is a small wine-growing sub-region in the southern Uco Valley of Mendoza, Argentina. Administratively speaking, La Consulta is part of the larger San Carlos district.

It sits in the shadow of the 5,830-meter (19,100ft) volcano, San José. The vineyards around La Consulta are planted to the Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Syrah, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Torrontes grape varieties.

Vineyards surround the small town of La Consulta on all sides. The heavier concentration lies to the west, approaching the slopes of the lower Andes mountains. The town itself sits at just over 1,000m (3,300ft), but peaks to the west rise over 4,000m (13,300ft). This altitude benefits La Consulta's vineyards by increasing the daily duration and quality of sunlight. It also improves air and water quality, and moderates the heat associated with areas of low latitude.
The Tunuyan river flows through the middle of La Consulta's wine-growing area. It brings meltwater directly from the peaks of the Andes, providing vines with relief from the dry, hot climate. Due to the proximity of the Tunuyan river the terrain in the area is largely alluvial. The soil features a clay and rock base with a stony, sandy surface. This is ideal for viticulture as it allows for good drainage, and forces the vines to grow deep, strong roots.

Note that there is a wine company called La Consulta, based in San Carlos. However their wines are labelled with the Uco Valley, La Rioja or Mendoza appellations.
