Valdejalón VT is a Vino de la Tierra title used in western Aragon, Spain. The area of Valdejalón – "valley of the Jalón River" – is renowned for its Mudejar architecture. The VT lies just 15 kilometers (10 miles) west of the regional capital, Zaragoza, across the Jalón River. It received its VT status in 1998, and is particularly known for full-bodied red wines from the Garnacha (Grenache) grape variety.

Valdejalón growers are allowed to produce white, red, rosé and vino de licor (fortified) wines, from a range of indigenous and international grape varieties. The red-wine varieties are dominated by Garnacha but also include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Tempranillo, Cariñena and Monastrell. The most-cultivated white grape varieties are Chardonnay, Macabeo, Garnacha Blanca and Moscatel de Alejandria (Muscat of Alexandria).

Valdejalón borders the vast Castilla y León VT zone to the west, and lies just south of the Duero River. The area has long been associated with quality wine, and it's believed that viticulture here pre-dates Roman settlement. Its proximity to historic Zaragoza ensured a steady demand from the city's population for its output.

The area is considered a transitional zone between the Ebro River and the Ibérico mountain system to the south. Altitude has an impact on Valdejalón's vineyards, some of which are as high as 800 meters (2625 ft) above sea level. This acts to lengthen the ripening period and provide cooler overnight temperatures, allowing grapes to accumulate sugars and color compounds but retain acid.

The accession of the region to VT status has done much to revive Valdejalón, which was very much in decline in the 1980s to mid-1990s. More ventures and more modern equipment are in the region now and more interesting wines are emerging.
