Bourgogne Cote du Couchois wines are red wines produced under the Bourgogne appellation title, on the rolling hillsides around the town of Couches in southern Burgundy.

All Bourgogne Cote du Couchois wines are made from Pinot Noir, grown in vineyards covering only 22 acres (9ha) of mostly south-facing slopes. The terroir here is a combination of limestone and clay soils, situated at an altitude of around 1000ft (310m) in a continental climate. This is a very similar environment to that of the southern Cote de Beaune and its village of Santenay is only six miles (11km) away to the north.

The proximity of the Cote de Couchois to the prestigious Cote de Beaune sub-region is evident not only in its terroir, but in the strictness of its appellation laws when compared to the other Bourgogne regional titles. The Cote du Couchois has tight production conditions – specifically those surrounding the minimum yield.

As from the 2001 vintage, the appellation covers the communes of Couches itself, Dracy-les-Couches, Saint-Jean-de-Trezy, Saint-Maurice-les-Couches, Saint-Pierre-de-Varennes and Saint-Sernin-du-Plain.
