Bourgogne La Chapelle Notre-Dame is the appellation title given to the red, white and rose wines produced from the 11-acre (4.5-ha) La Chapelle Notre-Dame vineyard in Ladoix-Serrigny, Burgundy.
The wines are made under the conditions of the Bourgogne appellation and must be produced exclusively from grapes grown in the La Chapelle Notre-Dame climat, on the slopes above Ladoix-Serrigny. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are used for the appellation's red and white wines respectively, with a small quantity of Pinot Gris employed in the rose wines.
Located at the junction of the Cote de Beaune and Cote de Nuits, La Chapelle Notre-Dame is very much at the heart of Burgundy's key winemaking area. It sits in the shadow of the Grand Cru hill of Corton, on whose lower slopes the vines are located.
While most Bourgogne wine can come from any one of 300 communes around Burgundy, La Chapelle Notre-Dame was singled out in 1993 as a vineyard worthy of appending its name to that of the appellation. Two nearby sites which share this honor are Montrecul and Le Chapitre, situated in the communes of Dijon and Chenove.
