The coat of arms of Chenove

Bourgogne Le Chapitre is the appellation title given to the red, white and rose wines produced by the 13-acre (5.25-ha) Le Chapitre vineyard in the commune of Chenove, a southern suburb of Dijon in Burgundy.

The wines are made under the conditions of the Bourgogne appellation and must be produced exclusively from grapes grown in the Le Chapitre climat, on the east-facing slopes overlooking Chenove. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are used to make the appellation's red and white wines respectively, with a small quantity of Pinot Gris employed in the rose wines.

While most Bourgogne wine can come from any one of 300 communes around Burgundy, Le Chapitre was singled out in 1993 as worthy of appending its name to that of the appellation. Two nearby sites which share this honor are Chapelle Notre-Dame and Montrecul, in the communes of Ladoix-Serrigny and Chenove.

Located at the northern end of the Cote de Nuits, Bourgogne Le Chapitre is one of the most-northerly named appellations of the Cote d'Or.
